About Wikis

A wiki is a collaborative website that is quick and easy for multiple users to edit and create content. Wiki can also refer to the software used to create this type of collaborative or community site. The term comes from the Hawaiian word "wikiwiki" which means "quick" in English. Wikipedia, and Wiktionary are two of the best known wikis.
Educators can easily create their own wikis with which to collaborate with peers. Wikis can provide students with a means to create content, discuss ideas, and share information.
